Samaritan’s Purse is a relief and Christian evangelism organization led by Franklin Graham. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our local ministry partners distribute your shoeboxes to children in their communities. In many places, a discipleship program called The Greatest Journey is offered to children after they receive their shoebox gifts. Through the program, our local ministry partners are able to establish long-term, caring relationships with children and families by sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Each year, members of the church pack shoeboxes. These shoeboxes are just an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox packed for a girl or boy in one of three age categories, 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. The box contains a quality "wow" toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal. Then other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies are added. Some also include a personal note and photo. For an online donation of $7 you can receive a tracking label to follow your box and discover the destination of the shoebox gift. A group then deliver the boxes to Baltimore, one of the 4,000 Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child gift shoebox processing centers, and help process shoeboxes for eventual distribution throughout the world.
