Women's Ministry

Women’s Ministry is an active ministry of the church.  Women’s Ministry meets the third Monday of each month at 6PM in the Family Life Center Kitchen.  A typical meeting entails a short business meeting, a Bible study, and prayer.  All women and girls are welcome to attend.

In April, several of the women volunteered their time in support of the Rock to Run 5K Run/Walk for the Hope Center at Hagerstown.  

 

Throughout the year, the women of the church collect their “thank offering coins.”  In May, the Thank Offering is collected in each local women’s group and is sent to the Church of God Women’s Ministry regional treasurer.  The regional treasurer sends 60% of the Thank Offering to the General Conference Women’s Ministries and the 40% remaining will be dispersed as decided by each region.  Originally used only for missions, it now encompasses many ministries of the church.  This year, the offerings totaled $506.

On May 24th, Women’s Ministry hosted a Ladies Retreat from 9-2.  The guest speaker was Pastor Linda Harbaugh-Rowe; she presented Extraordinary Roles for Women in His Kingdom.

In June, the ladies hosted a father/son breakfast on June 7th. There were 12 men in attendance.  

Women’s Ministry held a church wide yard sale on June 20-21.  The yard sale was a huge success and the ladies want to thank everyone who donated and helped in any way.  The monies from the yard sale, help to fund various outreach ministries in the community.
