Germantown Church of God
FAQ
Where is guest parking? There is plenty of parking along the front of the church with additional parking to the right rear side, including several handicapped spaces just a few feet from the side door. Here is a diagram of the entrances and parking areas.

What is there for my kids? During the Sunday morning worship service there is a nursery available and for kids up to the third grade we have a Children's Church which provides them a special worship service designed just for them. There they learn to pray and have an environment where they will understand that they need to accept Christ as their personal Savior.

What should I wear?  Dressing up is not a requirement to worship with us. Some wear their “Sunday best” but you’re also likely to see someone in slacks and a casual shirt, or even jeans or shorts. We believe the most important part about Sunday morning is showing up, ready to worship God. Nobody is left with the impression that they are underdressed or overdressed.

What is worship like? It is a traditional service with several hymns, both old and new, a time of prayer, and a message that relates to people today.

Will I be welcome Here? Absolutely! Whether you are visiting for the first time or the hundredth time, we want to make you feel like you are a part of our family. Nobody is turned away and no one is made to feel out of place. You do not have to be a member of the Churches of God, or of any church to attend and enjoy all that we have to offer.

Is your building handicap accessible? Most of it, yes! There are steps at the front of the church, but there are no steps to the door on the right side of the building. There are no steps otherwise except to the Sunday School classes for teens and children.

What about a Sunday School? At 10:30 am, immediately after the morning worship service, we offer three different classes for adults. The classes vary in size, format and the age of their members but all are glad to have you join them. We also offer and separate classes for teens and younger children, and a nursery for preschool children. Click here for more information.

Can a visitor take communion? Yes! We offer communion at different times throughout the year. We believe in open communion - that means that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is welcome to take communion, whether they are a church member or not.

How do I join the church? Contact the Pastor at 301-241-3050 and he can discuss this with you.

I have a different question. Please call the church at 301-241-3050 or e-mail us at office@germantowncog.org and we will be happy to answer any question you may have.
